INTRODUCTION 서론
When you hear the phrase spiritual warfare, you might think of:

• praying hedges of protection

• breaking generational curses

• exorcisms and rebukes

• mapping spiritual realms

  We assume these are central, necessary practices. But are they?

  If you want the clearest, most biblical definition of spiritual warfare, you don’t need an entire library. You need one verse.

  “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7) • “그러므로 여러분은 하나님께 복종하고 마귀를 대항하십시오. 그러면 마귀가 도망칠 것입니다.” (야고보서 4:7)
  James gives us three commands: 야고보는 우리에게 세 가지를 명령한다

1. Submit to God 하나님께 복종하라

2. Resist the devil 마귀를 대적하라

3. Draw near to God 하나님께 가까이하라

And the order matters. 그리고 순서가 중요하다.
Before we can stand against Satan, we must bow before God. 사탄에 맞서기 전에 우리는 먼저 하나님께 굴복해야 한다. Spiritual warfare does not begin with shouting at the devil.
영적 전쟁은 마귀를 향해 소리치는 것으로 시작하지 않는다.

It begins with kneeling before God. 하나님 앞에 무릎 꿇는 것으로 시작한다.

가장 명확하고 성경적인 영적 전쟁의 정의를 원한다면, 거대한 도서관이 필요하지 않다. 한 구절이면

충분하다.

Spiritual warfare is real, ongoing, and unseen. Scripture makes it clear that our struggle is not against people, but against spiritual forces. 영적 전쟁은 실재하며 지속적이고 눈에 보이지 않는다. 성경은 우리의 투쟁이 사람과의

싸움이 아니라 영적 권세들과의 싸움임을 분명히 한다

Paul writes in Ephesians 6:12: 바울은 에베소서 6 장 12 절에서 말하고 있다.
“Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil.” “

Jesus Himself confronted Satan directly. When tempted in the wilderness, He responded:

“Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.’” (Matthew 4:10) “사탄아, 물러가라 기록되었으되 네 하나님을 경배하고 다만 그를 섬기라 하였느니라” (마태복음 4:10) We are called to stand—not in our strength—but in God’s:

“Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” (Ephesians 6:10)
“끝으로 여러분은 주님 안에서, 그리고 주님의 능력으로 강해지십시오.” (에베소서 6:10)
The weapons we fight with are not worldly, but divinely powerful (2 Corinthians 10:4–5). And yet, even in the battle, Scripture assures us: 우리가 싸우는 무기는 세상의 것이 아니고 하나님께로부터 온 능력이다 (고린도후서 10:4–

5). 전투 중에도 성경은 우리에게 확신을 준다:

We fight from victory, not for victory. 우리는 승리를 싸우는 것이 아니라, 승리로부터 싸운다.

2. THE REALITY OF AN ENEMY 적의 실재
James doesn’t say, “Resist sin.” He says, “Resist the devil.” 야고보는 “죄를 대적하라” 하지 않고 “마귀를 대적하라” 말한다.

Behind sinful desires stands a real adversary. 죄된 욕망 뒤에는 실재의 적이 존재한다.

• Satan entered Judas 사탄이 유다에게 들어갔다

• Satan filled Ananias’ heart to lie 사탄이 아나니아의 마음을 가득 채워 거짓말하게 했다

• Satan incited David 사탄이 다윗을 부추겼다

• Satan confronted Peter—and Jesus said, “Get behind me.”

  사탄이 베드로를 대적했고ᅳ 예수님은 말씀하셨다. “사탄아 내 뒤로 물러가라.”
  This makes the battle serious—but not hopeless. 이러한 예는 싸움이 심각하지만 절망적이지 않음을 보여준다.

   

우리는 사람을 대항하여 싸우는 것이 아니라. 하늘과 이 어두운

Pirates don’t attack empty ships. 해적은 빈 배를 공격하지 않는다

Thieves don’t break in to steal coal—they steal jewels. 도둑은 석탄을 훔치러 들어오지 않고ᅳ보석을 훔친다. Those with the greatest calling often face the fiercest resistance.
가장 큰 소명을 받은 자들이 가장 치열한 저항에 직면한다.

Temptation does not mean you are abandoned. 유혹은 버림받았음을 의미하지 않는다.
It often means you are threatening enemy territory. 종종 당신이 적의 영토를 위협하고 있다는 것을 의미한다.

3.THE REAL BATTLEFIELD IS WITHIN 진정한 전장은 내면이다 James asks a piercing question: 야고보는 날카로운 질문을 던진다:

“What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?” (James 4:1)

James doesn’t blame demons first. He doesn’t blame circumstances. He doesn’t blame other people. He points inward. 야고보는 먼저 악령을 탓하지 않는다. 상황을 탓하지 않는다. 다른 사람을 탓하지 않는다. 그는 내면을

가리킨다.

The war begins in the human heart. Unchecked desires—pride, envy, lust, anger—create an inner civil war. And what begins internally eventually erupts externally. 전쟁은 인간의 마음에서 시작된다. 관리되지 않은 욕망—교만, 시기,

정욕, 분노—이 내면에서 내전을 일으킨다. 그리고 내부에서 시작된 것이 결국 외적으로 폭발한다.
Here’s the truth: If we lose the inner war, we will lose the outer one. 진실은 이렇다: 내적 전쟁에서 패배하면, 외적

전쟁에서도 패배한다.

When the flesh rules, the Spirit is silenced. And when the Spirit is silenced, relationships suffer, and Christlikeness fades. 육체가 지배하면 성령은 침묵한다. 성령이 침묵하면 관계가 상하고 그리스도를 닮아감이 희미해진다.

4. THE STRATEGY 전략

4.1 Victory Is Already Won 승리는 이미 이루어졌다.
Colossians 2:15 tells us: “Having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”

Satan is powerful—but limited. He can only operate within God’s permission. Our role is not to win the war—but to enforce Christ’s victory.

4.2 What We Flee—and What We Resist 우리가 도망해야 할 것—그리고 우리가 대적할 것 Scripture is precise. 성경은 정확하다.
 

“여러분 가운데 싸움과 다툼이 일어나는 원인이 무엇입니까? 여러분 속에 서 싸우는 쾌락에 대한 욕망 때문이

아닙니까?

골로새서 2:15 는 말한다: “그리고 그리스도께서는 사탄의 권세를 짓밟아

십자가로 승리하셔서 그것을 사람들에게 보여 주셨습니다.”

사탄은 강하지만 제한적이다. 그는 하나님의 허락 안에서만 활동할 수 있다. 우리의

역할은 전쟁을 이기는 것이 아니라 그리스도의 승리를 실행하는 것이다.

We are commanded to flee: 우리는 도망하라고 명령받는다. • sexual immorality 성적 부도덕
• idolatry

• the love of money

• youthful lusts

  These commands are continuous—run daily. 이 명령들은 지속적이다—날마다 도망하라. But we are never told to flee the devil. We resist him.
  그러나 우리는 결코 마귀로부터 도망하라는 명령을 받지 않는다. 우리는 마귀를 대적한다. Why? Because the battle isn’t about location—it’s about allegiance.

  4.3 Submission Comes Before Resistance

  You cannot resist the devil until you submit to God.
  Satan feeds on pride. He thrives on self-will. But when we humble ourselves—when grace fills our lives— something shifts. Now Satan is no longer fighting you. He’s fighting Christ in you. And he cannot win that battle.

  St. Augustine said: “The way to Christ is first humility, second humility, third humility.” Grace flows where humility lives.

  4.4 Resist! 대적하라!
  To resist means to stand firm—not to attack. Paul’s command in Ephesians 6 is simple: Stand. Stand on truth. Stand

  in righteousness. Stand in faith. Jesus showed us how: “It is written.” We don’t argue with the devil. We stand on Scripture.

  5. DRAW NEAR—AND GOD DRAWS NEAR 가까이하라—그러면 하나님이 가까이하신다
  James ends not with battle—but with intimacy. “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. The greatest defense

  against the enemy is not obsession with the enemy—but closeness to God.

물질, 돈을 사랑하는 것

젊은 욕망들

복종이 대적에 앞선다.

성 아우구스티누스는 말했다: “그리스도께 이르는 길은 첫째 겸손, 둘째 겸손, 셋째 겸손이다.”

하나님께 복종하기 전에는 마귀를 대적할 수 없다.

은혜는 겸손이 거하는 곳으로 흐른다.

야고보는 전투로 끝내지 않고 친밀함으로 끝맺는다. “하나님께 가까이하라 그리하면 너희에게 가까이하시리라.”

적에 대한 최고의 방어는 적에 대한 집착이 아니라ᅳ 하나님과의 친밀함이다.

Spiritual warfare is won not by shouting at demons but by kneeling before God. 영적전쟁은 악령에게 소리치는 것이 아니라 하나님 앞에 무릎 꿇음으로 승리한다.

CONCLUSION: 결론
Bow first. Then stand. 먼저 하나님 앞에 머리를 숙이라. 그리고 서라.

Submit to God. Resist the devil. And he will flee. 하나님께 복종하라. 마귀를 대적하라. 그리하면 마귀가 달아난다. Christ has crushed the serpent’s head. Now He calls us to stand where His feet already are.

Do not fear the fight. The victory is secure. 싸움을 두려워하지 말라. 승리는 확실하다. “Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)

Church, the battle plan has not changed.
