Introduction 서론

In his parables, Jesus drew interesting verbal word pictures of the world around his listeners. The messages in the parables were so plain and so simple that only the most hardened could refuse or reject the teaching.

예수님은 비유를 통해 청중들의 주변 세상을 흥미로운 언어적 묘사로 그려 내셨다. 비유 속 메시지는 너무나 분명하고 단순해서, 마음이 완고한 사람만이 그 가르침을 거부하거나 배척할 수 있었다.

A parable is a story or description that someone shares, and the listener then interprets it to find a deeper meaning. In other words, parables are stories that contain layers of truth beneath the surface. Whenever you study a parable of Jesus, it’s like peeling an onion. An onion has several layers, with the outer peel representing the literal truth of the story. As you peel away each layer, you uncover additional truths to discover.

비유는 누군가가 나누는 이야기나 묘사이며, 듣는 사람은 더 깊은 의미를 찾기 위해 그 비유를 해석한다. 즉, 비유는 표면 아래에 여러 진리의 층을 담고 있는 이야기이다. 예수님의 비유를 깊이 들여다볼 때마다 그것은 마치 양파를 껍질을 벗기는 것과 같다. 양파는 여러 겹이 있으며, 겉껍질은 이야기의 문자적 진실을 나타낸다. 각 껍질의 층을 벗겨낼수록 추가적인 진리를 발견하게 된다.

The context of the parable is important: 비유의 배경은 중요하다.
Luke 5 takes place against the backdrop of Matthew, the tax collector’s conversion.
누가복음 5 장은 세리 마태의 회심을 배경으로 전개된다.
Matthew’s call caused quite a stir. When Jesus called him, he invited Him to a feast.
마태의 부르심은 큰 동요를 일으켰다. 예수님이 마태를 부르시자, 마태는 예수님을 혼인 잔치에 초대했다.

Pharisees were startled by their company, sitting and feasting with sinners! Jesus addressed their complaints by sharing three powerful parables. To understand these parables, we need to peel back each layer until we reach the part that touches our hearts and lives. Let’s look at it:

바리새인들은 죄인들과 함께 앉아 잔치를 즐기는 무리의 모습에 깜짝 놀랐다! 예수님은 세 가지 강력한 비유를 통해 바리새인들의 불평을 다루셨다. 이 비유들을 이해하기 위해서는, 우리의 마음과 삶에 닿을 때가지 비유의 각 층을 벗겨내야 한다. 이를 살펴보자:

1. Life with Christ is a party! 그리스도와 함께 하는 삶은 잔치이다! Luke 5:33-34

Jesus likened life with Him to a wedding party. 예수님은 자신과 함께 하는 삶을 혼인 잔치에 비유하셨다.

Jesus was radically opposed to religion by rule as practiced by the religious leaders of his time. He used a vivid picture. When two young people got married in Palestine, they did not go away for a honeymoon; they stayed at home and kept open house for a week. They dressed in their best; sometimes they even wore crowns; for that week, they were king and queen, and their word was law.

예수님께서는 당시 종교 지도자들이 행하던 법에 따른 종교에 매우 반대하셨다. 예수님께서는 생생한 그림을 사용하셨다. 팔레스타인지역에서 두 젊은이들이 결혼하면 신혼여행을 가지 않았다; 일주일 동안 집에 머물면서 사람들에게 집을 개방했다. 신랑과 신부는 가장 좋은 옷을 입고 때로는 왕관까지 썼다; 일주일 동안 신혼부부는 왕과 왕비였고 이들의 말이 법이었다.

The scribes and Pharisees objected. The Christian life is more like a wedding celebration than a funeral procession. The Pharisees were griping, while Je- sus’ disciples were grinning. The Pharisees were somber, while Jesus’ disciples were singing. The Pharisees were languishing, while Jesus’ disciples were laughing. The Pharisees were criticizing, while Jesus’ boys were celebrating. The Pharisees were jealous; Jesus’ group was jubilant.

2. The reason – new-ness instead of patchwork! 그 이유는 낡은 천 조각이 아닌 새것이기 때문이다 -!

What is the personal truth behind this parable? It immediately contextualizes its message. Jesus didn’t patch Matthew’s life. His life changed dramatically! It was renewed. Jesus comes into your life to create something new! The source of joy is not a patched life, but a new life! Jesus doesn’t just try to clean up our old hearts; He gives us a new heart.

이 비유 뒤에 숨겨진 우리에게 전하는 진리는 무엇일까? 즉시 그 비유들의 메시지를 우리의 삶에 비추어 설명하신다. 예수님께서는 마태의 삶을 천 조각으로 덧대지 않으셨다. 마태의 삶은 완전히 바뀌었다! 삶이 새로워졌다. 예수님은 여러분의 삶에 새로운 것을 창조하기 위해 오신다! 기쁨의 근원은 낡은 천을 덧댄 삶이 아니라 새로운 삶이다! 예수님은 그저 우리의 낡은 마음을 청소하는 것이 아니라, 우리에게 새로운 마음을 주신다.

When Jesus comes into your life, His goal is not to reform you. His purpose is to transform you. To try to “fix” our sinful character is like sewing a new, unshrunk patch on an old garment. Second Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

예수님이 당신의 삶에 들어오실 때, 그분의 목표는 당신을 단지 고쳐주는 것이 아니다. 그분의 목적은 당신을 온전히 변화시키는 것이다. 우리의 죄성을 “고치려는” 것은 마치 낡은 옷에 새 천 조각을 꿰매는 것과 같다. 고린도후서 5:17 은 말한다. "그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라 이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새것이 되었도다."

3. New wine in new wineskins 새 포도주는 새 부대에

Jesus deepens the theme of these three parables about old and new by discussing wine in wineskins in the third parable. Jesus referred to their minds. The spiritual truth of this parable is that the Christian life is an ongoing flow of new ideas, methods, and revelations of truth. The religious snobs of Jesus’ time didn’t like His teaching because it was so revolutionary. It was fresh. To stop learning or to stop being open to new revelations of truth is a hazardous spiritual condition.

예수님께서는 세 번째 비유에서 부대에 담긴 포도주를 말씀하시면서 낡은 것과 새로운 것에 대한 이 세 가지 비유의 주제를 더 깊이 다루신다. 예수님은 사람들의 마음을 언급하셨다. 이 비유의 영적 진실은 그리스도인의 삶은 새로운 생각, 방법 및 진리의 계시가 끊임없이 흐르는 것이라는 점이다. 예수님 시대의 세속적 종교인들은 예수님의 가르침이 너무 혁명적이었기 때문에 좋아하지 않았다. 예수님의 가르침은 신선했다. 배우기를 멈추거나 새로운 진리의 계시에 마음문을 여는 것을 멈추는 것은 위험한 영적 상태이다.

But the lesson of this parable is clear: Jesus came to bring the new. He is the New Patch; He is the New Wine. God loves new things. We enter the Christian life through a new birth, become a new creation, walk in newness of life, read the New Testament, and one day God will create a new heaven and a new earth. “He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’ Then he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true’” (Revelation 21:5).

이 비유의 교훈은 분명하다. 예수님께서는 새로운 것을 가져오시기 위해 오셨다. 그분은 새로운 천 조각이시다; 그분은 새로운 포도주이시다. 하나님은 새로운 것을 사랑하신다. 우리는 새로운 탄생을 통해 기독교인의 삶에 들어가고, 새로운 피조물이 되고, 새로운 삶을 살고, 신약 성경을 읽고, 그리고 언젠가 하나님께서 새 하늘과 새 땅을 창조하실 것이다. 보좌에 앉으신 분이 말씀하셨다. "보라 내가 만물을 새롭게 하노라!" 그리고 그분은 말씀하셨다. '이 말은 신실하고 참되니 기록하라'" (요한계시록 21:5).

Conclusion 결론

What a parable! What a testimony. If we are in Christ, we are new creatures, not just patched-up ones! As new creatures, we are like fresh wineskins—open to growth, new God-ideas, and adventures with God. It doesn’t permit us to do what’s so common in the church today—unbiblical things.

얼마나 놀라운 비유인가! 얼마나 놀라운 증거인가! 우리가 그리스도 안에 있다면 우리는 천 조각으로 덧대어진 존재가 아니라 새로운 피조물이다! 새로운 피조물로서 우리는 성장, 새로운 하나님의 생각 및 하나님과의 모험에 열려 있는 신선한 가죽 부대와 같다. 새 부대는 오늘날 교회에서 흔히 일어나는 비성경적인 일들을 우리에게 허용하지 않는다.
