Sermon: My Home: My Castle - My Tabernacle! (Summary) 나의 집: 나의 성 – 나의 성막! 

Mt. 7:24-29 

Introduction 서론  

During May, we talk about families. The Greek word for house is oikos—also home, house, and the cluster or the people that make 

up the concept of “home” or “family.”   

5 월에는 가족에 대해 이야기한다. 집을 뜻하는 그리스어는 오이코스이며, 이는 가정, 가옥, 그리고 “가정”과 

"가족"이라는 개념을 구성하는 집단 또는 사람들을 의미한다. 

May is family month.  In the West, today is Mother’s Day.  When we think of ‘family’ or ‘home’, think of the home you come from.  

Think of the home (not the house) you’re building, whatever form the ‘family’ is defined.  

5월은 가정의 달이다. 서양에서는 오늘이 어머니날이다. '가족' 또는 '집'을 생각할 때, 당신의 집을 생각해 보라. 

당신이 짓고 있는 집(가옥)이 아닌, '가족'으로 정의되는 어떤 형태의 것이던 그 집을 생각해 보라. 

We do know that the concept of ‘family’ plays a very important role in the Bible. God is not only the God of the individual, but 

moreover, the God of the family. In the New Testament, we have the account of Cornelius’ home in Acts 10: 1: In Caesarea, there 

was a man named Cornelius, a centurion of the Italian Cohort, as it was called. 2 He was a devout man who feared God with all his household; he gave 

alms generously to the people and prayed constantly to God.  

우리는 '가족'이라는 개념이 성경에서 매우 중요한 역할을 한다는 것을 안다. 하나님은 개인의 하나님일 뿐만 아니라 

가족의 하나님이기도 하다. 신약에서 우리는 사도행전 10장 1절에서 고넬료의 집에 대한 설명을 찾을 수 있다: 

가이사랴에 이탈리아 부대라는 백부장 고넬료라는 사람이 있었다. 2 그는 온 집안과 더불어 하나님을 경외하는 

경건한 사람이었다. 그는 사람들에게 관대하게 구제하고 끊임없이 하나님께 기도했다. 

In the Old Testament, we find Joshua 24:14, he says:  Joshua said, “But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."  

구약에서는 여호수아 24장 14절에서 여호수아가 말한다. "나와 내 집은 여호와를 섬기겠노라." 

Also, in the Psalms, “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain” (Ps. 127:1)  

또한 시편에서는 말한다. "여호와께서 집을 세우지 아니하시면 세우는 자의 수고가 헛되다"(시편 127:1). 

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus uses the picture of a house built on sand and rock to discuss whether or not we should build 

our lives on God’s foundation. When I think of family and home, two pictures come to mind: a castle and a tabernacle. 

산상수훈에서, 예수님은 모래와 반석 위에 지은 집의 그림을 사용하여 우리의 삶을 하나님의 기초 위에 지어야 

하는지에 대해 논하신다. 가족과 집을 생각할 때, 두 가지 그림이 떠오른다: 성과 성막이다. 

1. 

We are building a castle 우리는 성을 짓고 있다 

The English have a maxim/saying: A man’s home is his castle. This maxim states that no one may enter a home, which would typically 

have been in male ownership, unless by invitation.  영국인들은 "집은 그의 성이다"라는 격언/속담을 가지고 있다. 이 격언은 

누구도 초대 없이는, 대개 남성 소유였던, 집에 들어갈 수 없다는 것을 명시한다. 

Characteristics of a Castle: 성의 특징  

• A Castle has strong foundations: 성은 견고한 기초를 가지고 있다. 

▪ Cor 3: 11 – 13:  For no one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 

If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his

workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and 

the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work.  

고린도전서 3:11 – 13: 아무도 이미 놓여진 기초 외에 다른 기초를 놓을 수 없으니, 곧 

예수 그리스도시라. 누구든지 이 기초 위에 금, 은, 보석, 나무, 건초 또는 짚으로 집을 

지으면 그의 솜씨가 분명해질 것이니, 그 날이 그것을 밝힐 것이기 때문이라. 그것은 불로 

드러날 것이고, 불은 각 사람의 작품의 질을 증명할 것이다. 

▪ Jesus said, “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man 

who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew against 

the house; yet it did not fall because it had its foundation on the rock.” (Mt. 7:24-25).  

예수님은 말씀하셨다. "그러므로 누구든지 나의 이 말을 듣고 행하는 자는 반석 위에 자기 

집을 지은 지혜로운 사람과 같으니라. 비가 내리고 시냇물이 나고 바람이 불어 그 집에 

부딪치되 무너지지 아니하였으니, 그 기초가 반석 위에 놓였기 때문이라.” (마태복음 7:24

25). 

• A Castle is a safe place: 성은 안전한 곳이다: 

The difference between a castle and a palace is that a castle is fortified with strong walls. God’s idea of a family 

unit, a home, is that of a castle. 성과 궁전의 차이점은 성이 견고한 벽으로 요새화되어 있다는 것이다. 

하나님이 생각하시는 가족 단위, 집은 바로 성과 같다.  

▪ Deuteronomy 22:8 mandates that when building a new house, a parapet (or railing) around the roof 

should be constructed to prevent accidents and ensure no one falls from it, thus avoiding bloodguilt 

on the house. 신명기 22:8 은 새 집을 지을 때 지붕 주위에 난간(또는 울타리)을 세워 사고를 

예방하고 아무도 떨어지지 않도록 하여 집에서 피 흘리는 일을 피하도록 규정하고 있다. 

• A place of learning: In ancient castles, children learned how to defend their castles in combat.  

배움의 장소: 고대의 성에서, 아이들은 전투에서 성을 방어하는 방법을 배웠다. 

▪ Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.  

잠언 22:6 – 마땅히 걸어야 할 길로 아이를 훈련시키라. 그러면 늙어도 그 길을 떠나지 

않을 것이니라.  

▪ Eph. 4:6 - 4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. 

에베소서 4:6 – 4 아버지들이여, 자녀를 노엽게 하지 말고, 주의 훈련과 교훈으로 

양육하십시오. 

• A castle is also a happy space: 성은 또한 행복한 공간이다. 

▪ Psalm 127:3-4 - 3 Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. 4 Like arrows in the hands 

of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put 

to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.  

시편 127:3-4 – 3 . 자녀는 여호와께서 주신 기업이요, 태의 열매는 그에게 주시는 상급이라. 

4 젊을 때 낳은 자식은 용사의 손에 있는 화살과 같으니라. 5 화살통이 그들로 가득한 

사람은 복이 있도다. 그들은 법정에서 그들의 대적과 다툴 때 수치를 당하지 않을 것이라.  

▪ God wants us to have fun and enjoy life!  If you’re too busy to enjoy life with your family, you’re too busy!   

하나님은 우리가 즐거워하고 인생을 즐기기를 원하신다! 당신이 당신의 가족과 함께 

인생을 즐길 수 업을 만큼 바쁘다면, 당신은 너무 바쁜 것이다!

2. 

We are also building a tabernacle 우리는 또한 성막을 짓고 있다. 

In the Old Testament, God instructed Moses to build a tabernacle.   

구약에서 하나님은 모세에게 성막을 지으라고 지시하셨다. 

o The tabernacle would be in the center of the camp. 

성막은 진영 중앙에 있을 것이다. 

o It would be the focus of the camp 

성막은 진영의 중심이 될 것이다. 

o It would be the place where God was visible and present.  

성막은 하나님이 보이고 현존하시는 곳이 될 것이다. 

o It would be the place of sacrifice and atonement, reconciliation, and guidance. 

성막은 희생과 속죄, 화해, 인도의 장소가 될 것이다. 

o Your home should be like a castle and a tabernacle.    

당신의 집은 성과 성막과 같아야 한다. 

o A Sacred space 신성한 공간 

▪ No other gods allowed!  

다른 신은 허용되지 않는다 

▪ A place of forgiveness and acceptance.  A great marriage is the union of two great forgivers.  

용서와 수용의 장소. 위대한 결혼은 두 위대한 용서자의 결합이다. 

▪ A place to meet God  

하나님을 만나는 장소 

▪ A family that prays together, stays together. 

함께 기도하는 가족은 함께 머물러 있다. 

o A sacred space is not a bible-punching space where children are subjected to the abuse of the Word, but 

rather a place where members know this is a sacred space, like no other.  Holy to the Lord.  A place where 

I can pray, praise, and know…the Lord is here. 

거룩한 공간은 아이들이 말씀으로 학대당하는 성경이 매가 되는 공간이 아니라, 구성원들이 

이곳이 다른 곳과 다른 거룩한 공간임을 아는 곳이다. 주님께 거룩함을 돌리는 곳.  내가 

기도하고, 찬양하고, 알 수 있는 곳...주님은 여기에 계신다. 

Conclusion 결론 

Pray this prayer today: “Dear Jesus Christ, I want to live an awesome life. And I want to have an awesome family. I know I won’t 

have either if I live for myself. So today I give myself to you. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. I can’t do this on my 

own, Lord. So I ask you to come into my life, take complete control of every area, and give me the power to do the right thing. In 

your name I pray. Amen.” 

오늘 이 기도를 드리라. “사랑하는 예수 그리스도시여, 저는 멋진 삶을 살기를 원합니다. 그리고 멋진 가족도 원합니다. 

하지만 저 자신을 위해 살면 어느 것도 가질 수 없다는 것을 압니다. 그래서 오늘 저는 당신께 저를 드립니다. 저와 

제 가족은 주님을 섬기겠습니다. 주님, 제 힘으로는 이것을 할 수 없습니다. 주님께서 제 삶에 들어오셔서 모든 것을 

온전히 다스리시고 옳은 일을 할 수 있는 힘을 주시기를 간구합니다. 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
